Question: Where should I look for QuickBooks software?
Answer: My advice is to buy only from a proven source. The safest source is to buy directly from Intuit. But, there are many resellers that provide some attractive offers. I’ve heard a full range of reports from good to bad. Be careful in your selection of seller, version of QuickBooks and its term.
Be alert for the differences between the subscription versions and the ownership versions. Currently, QuickBooks Enterprise is being sold as a subscription service, and being sold at a variety of prices. Some shopping might serve you well.
QuickBooks Premier is still a purchase-and-own product. These owned products are supported by Intuit until May of the third year after its release. For instance, QuickBooks Premier 2017 will be supported by Intuit until May 2020.
Resellers sometimes change the product’s term. Recently, a client told me they got a great deal, only to discover it was for one year and not the standard purchase with three years of support. Be alert.
There is a reseller I do recommend, and I am not affiliated with them either. Their website is www.softwarediscountcenter.com. My clients have been pleased. Their prices are good and they offer a 60-day money-back guarantee.
